Coder Dojo After School Club
A group of parent and teacher volunteers led by parent Jonathon Coyle set up a CoderDojo club in the school this year. CoderDojo is a volunteer-led course of free computer programming workshops, where young people learn and practise coding. The sessions took place on Friday evenings from 7.00-8.30pm over a period of eight weeks and were offered to pupils in 6th class initially and then to 5th class pupils. Spaces were filled on a first come, first served basis.
Thank you very much to the volunteers (Jonathan, Helen, Jon, Anthony, Majella and Ms. McHugh) who have given so much of their time planning and facilitating the Dojo sessions. Jonathon’s company Murex sponsored the programme, and provided teaching materials and lesson plans.
