Congratulations to Oisín McGrath who has won the All-Ireland banjo title at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Mullingar today. This is a huge achievement as the standard at the All-Ireland stage of the competition is exceptionally high. Musicians have won their county and provincial titles to get to the All-Ireland who compete with those who have won in Britain and America as well. To get to an All-Ireland is a fantastic achievement but to be placed is at another level of achievement altogether.
Congratulations also to Micheál and Oisín who were members of the Céilí Band placed third. Another fantastic achievement for the boys in a very high standard competition. Well done boys! We’ll be looking forward to hearing you both again when we return to school in September!
